SAM PL-1000 Sample Art Machine · Portable Line

Mobile sampler · iOS & Android

Start the beat on the couch.
Finish the track there too.

SAM PL-1000 is built like a machine, not a menu. Non-destructive layers on every pad, an FX chain per pad, a polymetric sequencer and a real song timeline — so the loop you hummed into your mic at midnight can leave as a finished master.

  • <10 mspad latency target
  • 16pads, layered
  • 1price, no tiers

The gap we build in

Fast samplers can't finish.
Mobile DAWs don't feel like anything.

Sketchpads

Immediate and fun, until the fourth voice steals the third, chops go mono, and layering means destructive resampling. The idea survives. The track doesn't.

Mobile DAWs

Deep enough to finish, built for a tablet and a manual. You stop playing an instrument and start operating a spreadsheet with a timeline attached.

SAM PL-1000

Hardware feel with a finishing room behind it. Layers, inserts, song arrangement and mixer groups — reached through practice, not through a wizard.

Everything the loop needs to become a record.

01

Layers that stay editable

Stack as many samples on one pad as the part needs. Each layer keeps its own ADSR and filter, and none of it is ever printed down. Change your mind at bar 64.

02

An FX chain per pad

EQ, filter, compressor, delay and reverb as inserts on the pad itself — not a shared send you have to ration between the kick and the vocal chop.

03

Polymetric sequencer

Multi-track patterns where tracks don't have to agree on length. Seven-step hats against a four-bar loop, drifting exactly as long as you want them to.

04

Linear song timeline

Arrange patterns end to end on a real timeline. Intro, drop, bridge, outro — the part of the job phones have always handed back to a laptop.

05

Mixer groups, with metering

Assignable groups carrying level, pan, EQ, inserts and sidechain — metered in LUFS after per-pad FX, so what you export is what you heard.

06

On-device intelligence

BPM and key detected on import. Stem separation pulls vocals, bass, drums and melody apart on the handset. Airplane mode, no upload, no queue.

Wherever you are

The studio is a couch, a rug, and forty minutes.

No desk, no interface, no session to open. Record the radiator, chop it, layer it, arrange it, and bounce a master before the tea goes cold.

A woman lying back against the arm of a steel-blue sofa late at night, holding a phone up in one hand. The screen is the brightest thing in the room and throws warm amber across her face; a pair of headphones rests on the cushion beside her, and a lamp glows in the corner. AI-generated
Midnight, one cushion, sixteen pads. The whole rig fits in one hand.

Playback is the whole ritual. Split the headphones, run it back.

Shake capture

Shake the phone.
That's the take.

Put a shaker hit on a pad, press record, and play the part with the phone itself. Every shake fires the sound at the velocity you gave it, and the whole performance renders down to a new sample on that pad — not a loop you triggered, a part you played.

Count-in on your project's tempo, a metronome if you want one, the pattern running underneath as a reference, and it stops itself when the pattern comes round.

Tilt and rotation map to volume, filter, pitch or pan while you play. The phone is the controller as well as the instrument.

A drum machine on a desk cannot do this. It doesn't know where it is.
